MALABAR COAST

There are many sub-cuisines along the Malabar Coast. Karwar, serves delicately cooked seafood of all types, including fish steaming fish in turmeric leaves. Udupi, is famous for the art of making idlis and dosas. Coondapur is best known for a woman café owner inventing Chicken Ghee Roast, which is a best seller. Mangalore cuisine is a blend of Hindu & Christian influence. It uses roasted spices & roasted coconut (instead of simple raw coconut).
