Join us on a 12-week limited-edition culinary journey inspired by the Grand Trunk Road, one of the world’s longest & oldest highways. The 2,500-kilometre GTR, as the artery is called, has been a most significant route for armies, traders, pilgrims and cultural exchange.
The images of highly decorated trucks which supplied the Grand Trunk Road symbolise this odyssey.
The Masala Zone menu has been transformed to trace the GTR, from Afghanistan in the West to Bengal in the East and traverses some of the Indian sub-continent’s great culinary regions & gastronomic jewels.
These culinary regions range from the robust North West Frontier, through full-bodied Punjab, through Pan-North-Indian Delhi, to the refined Mughal cuisines of Lucknow, before reaching the sophisticated flavours of Bengal.
In short, the best regional food in India can only be made by a specialty chef from the same region.
Slow cooked food, in a fast paced world... we use only the freshest ingredients, cut back on the oil.
Agricultural abundance blends centuries of cultural influences from Hindu, Mughal and colonial-era trading communities.
